Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about GrowSIP.in and mutual fund analytics
What is GrowSIP.in?
GrowSIP.in is a free mutual fund analytics platform that provides historical NAV data, performance metrics, SIP calculations, and portfolio overlap analysis for Indian mutual funds.
What is GrowScore?
GrowScore is our proprietary composite score (0–100) that combines: 40% CAGR 3Y, 20% consistency (% of positive rolling 1Y returns), 20% Sharpe ratio, and 20% inverse drawdown. Higher is better.
How is XIRR calculated?
XIRR (Extended Internal Rate of Return) is calculated using the Newton-Raphson numerical method. It accounts for the exact timing and amount of each SIP installment, making it more accurate than simple CAGR for SIPs.
What is portfolio overlap?
Portfolio overlap measures how much two mutual funds share common stock holdings. A high overlap means your funds are not truly diversified. We calculate it as the sum of min(weight_A, weight_B) for all common stocks.
What does Max Drawdown mean?
Maximum Drawdown is the largest peak-to-trough decline in the fund's NAV over its history. A drawdown of -30% means the fund fell 30% from its highest point at some stage.
What is Sharpe Ratio?
Sharpe Ratio measures risk-adjusted return: (CAGR - Risk-Free Rate) / Volatility. A higher Sharpe means more return per unit of risk. We use 6.5% as the risk-free rate.
How often is data updated?
NAV data is updated daily (on trading days). Metrics are recomputed daily. Holdings data is updated monthly as AMCs release portfolio disclosures.
Is this financial advice?
